Traveler's Information
Welcome to Savannah and Congregation B'nai B'rith Jacob!
Savannah is located about eight miles east of one of the busiest north-south interstates in the U.S., I-95.
Consequently, we have many visitors to our community as they travel between northern cities and Florida, many
of whom need lodging during their stay, be it during the week or over Shabbos. This page provides a list of hotels
and services that we recommend for your visit.
Despite our congregation's long and vibrant history, we are still a relatively small Jewish community. We do,
however, have an eruv that is actively maintained by our congregation, and we made sure that it includes several
different hotels that are within walking distance to our synagogue. Of course, our homes do not have basements,
so we strongly urge that when it comes to lodging while in Savannah, you choose one of the
following hotels. They are listed in order of closest to farthest from the synagogue. For personally ready-made
Kosher food during your visit, including Shabbos packages, please contact Gottlieb and Cohen Kosher Catering
(information listed below).

Enjoy your stay in Savannah, known as the Hostess City of the South and also as the Queen City of the
South. It is a very beautiful city that has a large historic district with magnificent historical homes
and gardens. It is the largest Historic District in the United States, where the houses are restored and
still lived in, and the many businesses still thrive.
Savannah is also called the Forest City, because of its many parks, and the beautiful trees that line so
many of our streets.
Tybee Island, with its beaches, is only 17 miles away.
